Carmex® lip balm
Carmex is a chic little lip balm designed to help protect lips against chapping. It is famous for its tingling sensation and comes in a squeezable tube, a range of Click Sticks™ with SPF 15, as well as a mini-pot. All funky retro containers which slip easily into pockets or handbags for a quick application of long lasting lip coverage.
Who are we?
Biccari Holdings P/L is a family run business, established in 1986. Gunther and Joan Winder founded the company some 20 years ago, and their daughter, Amanda, became involved in recent times.
When Joan moved to Australia from the USA, she saw a perfect market for her favourite product Carmex® lip balm. Her father, a travelling salesman, worked close by to the manufacturers of Carmex, Carma Laboratories, Inc.
Approaching Carma Labs, Joan's father explained of his daughter's desire to import Carmex into Australia. At first this idea was dismissed, but a few months later, Joan's persistent father returned to the Carma Labs headquarters to try again. This time he was successful! Carma Labs decided to export Carmex for the very first time, into Australia. Carma Labs granted Joan and Gunther Winder exclusive distribution rights for Australia, which they hold to this day.
The first ever Carmex order was in 1988 for a whopping 10 dozen jars! In the early years, Gunther and Joan worked as sales reps on their own, travelling to pharmacies mostly in remote locations around the country.
Now, the business paints a different picture and has a distribution network spanning the enitre country. The business has grown and maintained a strong family approach.
